Lieutenant Obvious, or Lt. Obvious, is a well known, frequently inactive commenter on the Explosm website. He is a moderator of the unofficial Cyanide and Happiness Discord server, where he is more often seen.
As his username suggests, he has a tendency to state the most obvious aspects of any given subject. His comments can occasionally contain humor, but is more often blatant or flat.
He alludes to his membership as part of a "legion", with other commenters such as General Obvious.
When referred to as "he", Lieutenant Obvious will reply with "This person assumes I'm male" and as such, their gender is left ambiguous.
He often attempts to steal bottom comment from Walter White.
